This page contains information on the various mods available for the PC version of Fallout: New Vegas. Given that New Vegas was released back in 2010, it still looks pretty good and plays well on it's own. However, there's always room for improvement, and there are literally thousands of user-created modifications that update the visuals and enhance the gameplay in almost every way.

Installing mods often involves tampering with core game files. Always be sure to verify that your mod sources are trustworthy and that you backup every file you replace, in case you need to remove it later.
Nexus Mod Manager / FOMM
[edit]
The Nexus Mod Manager is the easiet way to mod your game. You just go to the nexus and download the mod clicking the green button, then install the mod directly from the manager. However, the Nexus Mod Manager can get confused easy about mods that clash with eachother and has some issues wih load order which may negatively affect your game.
Alternatively, the Fallout Mod Manager (or FOMM) provides a suite of utilities to help you download and implement New Vegas mods. It does take some knowledge about modding to use the FOMOD, but there are some excellent tutorials available for both FOMM and NMM to help get you started.
There are some files that cannot be installed via these manager, such as ENB lighting setups or various plugins for New Vegas, but so long as you follow all the installation instructions to the letter you shouldn't have any problems.
Bug Fixes / Game Updates[edit]
While New Vegas is certainly more stable than it's predecessor, it is not without it's faults. There are many minor fixes and tweaks that can be altered with the following mods.
New Vegas Anti Crash[edit]
NVAC stabilizes the notoriously buggy New Vegas, smoothing out the programming around known problem areas and protecting the user from lost progress.
Download it here.
4GB Fallout New Vegas[edit]
By changing the way your computer allocates memory to Fallout, this mod improves the performance of other Mods when active. Note that it may trigger an anti-virus warning as it modifies executable Fallout files.
Download it here.
New Vegas Stutter Remover
[edit]
The NVSR is a simple mod that helps eliminate the framerate stutters / drops that are so prevalent in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Fallout New Vegas Nevada Skies Black
This page contains information on visual / world enhnacements available for Fallout: New Vegas.
Installing mods often involves tampering with core game files. Always be sure to verify that your mod sources are trustworthy and that you backup every file you replace, in case you need to remove it later.
Texture Mods
[edit]
The first step to overhauling your copy of New Vegas (after installing the necessary plugins and patches) is to update as many of the in-game textures and models as possible.
NMC's Texture Pack
[edit]
This texture pack updates many of the core New Vegas textures with much better versions. The maximum edition comes with 2K textures for most of it's items, though there are lower-resolution variants available if the larger version compromises gameplay. Does not replace DLC textures, but is compatible with them.
Ojo Bueno's HQ Texture Workshop[edit]
Configure microsoft exchange on thunderbird. Similar to NMC's pack, the Ojo Bueno bundle replaces almost every in-game environmental texture. The main version of this mod increases resolution to 4K and can be merged with NMC's texture pack. For lower-resolution versions, check out the Poco Bueno Texture Pack instead.
Weapon Retexture Project[edit]
This mod by Millenia focuses on re-texturing several weapons in your Wastelander's arsenal, from shotguns to high-caliber pistols and rifles.
Improved Heavy Weapons Textures[edit]
Following the WRP, this update replaces the vanilla textures for many of the heavy weapons found throughout New Vegas, including the minigun, flamer and several missile launchers.
Essential Visual Enhancements
[edit]
Building off of the Energy Visuals Enhanced mod for Fallout 3, this mod provides new visual effects for wounds, explosions, and character reactions. It also adds several new textures to many of the energy weapons and improves on the firing animations of each.
Wasteland Clothing Hires Re-Texture[edit]
New Vegas Nevada Skies Mod
As the title implies, this mod updates many of the armors and outfits that players and NPCs alike can wear throughout the wasteland. It includes 56 updates to male clothing items, 54 for female models and more than 20 new versions of hats, helmets and other headgear.
MG's Neat Clutter Re-textured[edit]
Mental Gear's NCR mod overhauls the look of many of the wasteland's miscellaneous items, from cardboard boxes and bottles to pillowcases and washing machines.
Character / NPC Mods
[edit]
In addition to re-texturing the game world, it's also a great idea to give the NPCs (and your own character) a face lift. Here are a few mods that will help beautify the characters of New Vegas.
Fallout Character Overhaul
[edit]
The FCO by Drumber replaces many of the default character meshes and textures, giving NPCs and character models a more realistic (if not a bit more angular) look. It also includes plugins for several other mods, as well as new hair meshes and a patch that allows players to create Ghoul characters.
FNV Redesigned 2[edit]
This updated version of the original mod by Dracomies also replaces the textures and meshes for most NPCs and character models.
Wasteland Mods[edit]
Once your baseline textures and NPCs have been updated, the next step in revamping New Vegas is to enhance the wasteland with additional content.
Wasteland Flora Overhaul
[edit]
Similar to the Flora Overhaul for Fallout 3 or the Skyrim Floral Overhaul, this mod by Vurt adds more than 100 new plants to the Mojave wasteland. This includes new trees, shrubberies and grass textures that vastly improve the experience of wandering around the desert.
Nevada Skies
[edit]
Nevada Skies adds complex weather and lighting effects to the world of New Vegas. Sandstorms, RADstorms, Toxicstorms, snow, and more add further diversity to the already-rich world adding a new level of immersion. It also includes a handy user interface that allows players to alter the wasteland with specific mood settings that range from lore-friendly to downright wacky. Note that unless specifically stated in the description, most ENB lighting presets will not be compatible with Nevada Skies.
Project Reality
[edit]
Similar to Nevada Skies, Project Reality Mk 1. completely overhauls the Mojave's weather system. Also including an alterable U.I., this is another great choice for adding dynamic weather patterns to your New Vegas experience. As with Nevada Skies, this mod is not compatible with most ENB presets.
Lighting Mods / ENBs
[edit]
Perhaps the most challenging aspect of updating Fallout: New Vegas is enhancing the in-game lighting effects. This can be done in a couple of ways, depending on how comfortable you are altering your games file structure.
Interior Lighting Overhaul
[edit]
As it's name implies, this mod changes the way that building interiors are lit. It adds and alters light sources throughout each location, meaning that places like ruins and abandoned vaults will be darker than inhabited locations such as military outposts or the Strip's casinos.
Realistic Wasteland Lighting
[edit]
For those of us too intimidated or too lazy to install an ENB preset, this mod by
